    Description

    A beautiful Antique Brass Microscope (believed to be by R. Field and Son (1860s).  Good clear optics throughout. The microscope tilts, the eyepiece  tube is not the extendable kind.  It has a square stage with detachable clip.  Below the stage is a mirror and a revolving wheel to control the level of light.  The case has a small pull out tray with some microscope slides (see pictures).  Overall the microscope appears to be in good working condition.  All contained in a beautiful Mahogany case (missing handle and key) .
    The microscope shows its age (normal signs of wear) so don't expect it to be brand new.  There is  tarnish on the brass lacquer and general signs of wear on the box.  Although in working order it is really being sold as decorative / collector item rather than a scientific instrument.  As far as I know, it has never been cleaned and/or polished.  Microscope itself sits recessed into a wooden board which also slides out of the box to make the removing of the microscope easier.
    Accessories (all probably original):  2-eyepieces (UNMARKED), 2-Objectives lens (1/8 IN, and unknown) with canister, two plates lenses and tweezer.

    b - Focusing: Separate coarse & fine adjustment
    c - Light Source: Mirror (some visible spots and scratches but overall in good condition)
    d - Revolving Nose Piece
