    Description

    Here we have an
    Antique 'Martin Drum' Type Brass Compound Microscope with Mahogany Box.
    The microscope is not maker marked.  The sliding main tube is marked 1, 2, 3.   It has an optically good eyepiece and objective lens.  Focusing is accomplished by sliding the main tube up or down.  There is a stage for holding a slide.  Below this is a light reflecting mirror but the 'silvering' has some wear. The microscope comes is a VERY nice polished Mahogany box with blue felt interior.  There are no cracks in the box.   The microscope varies in height from 7-9" tall.  The box measures approx. 9-1/2"L x 5-3/8"W x 4-3/4"H.
