    Description

WE ARE NOW ENTERING THE REAL INTERESTING STUFF IN THE BARN*!
OLD authentic Pen Register J.H. BUNNELL&CO New York USA collectors! 5 Early Surveillance history trap and trace device
    Mod. KS-3107 Res. 150 Ser. 9639
This is an old Pen Register that has the plate which lists it as Mod. KS-3107 Res. 150 Ser. 9639 and made in the USA!
Doing some research it dates to 1899.
This is the second of the two Registers in the box.
There is one like this one on eBay right now for 5!
Like the one for 5, we did see the rod on the paper wheel has been replaced.
Very heavy and have no idea if it/they work – these days software does this kind of surveillance.
This is not in our expertise – great for an engineer!
This is what we found on the internet:
    A
    pen register
    , or
    dialed number recorder
(DNR), is an electronic device that records all numbers called from a particular telephone line. The term has come to include any device or program that performs similar functions to an original pen register, including programs monitoring Internet communications.
Who was the inventor of the pen register?
    Samuel F. B. Morse 's 1840 telegraph patent described such a
    register
    as consisting
    of
a lever holding an armature on one end, opposite an electromagnet, with a fountain
    pen
, pencil or other marking instrument on
    the
other end, and a clockwork mechanism to advance a paper recording tape under
    the
    marker.

    stuff coming up
    !
Trying to “nip in the bud” any hard feelings or silly issues, we continue to give out disclaimers…
    Here goes, read on:
    *******CAUTION!!!
    Check the shipping costs!*/*
We do NOT negotiate on shipping – funny how AFTER someone WINS they start nit-picking on a couple dollars of shipping costs over their sticker (but no one offers to pay if the shipping sticker shows more!).
We keep our shipping VERY close to the edge.
    BEFORE you bid, look.
If the shipping cost is unacceptable, please do not wait until AFTER the auction to begin dancing around.
EBay insists we, as sellers, tell you, as buyers, EXACTLY what you will be paying.
TIME is MONEY, folks, be AWARE of the costs or don’t play the game.******
    */*ALSO your ability to pay!
We are not bankers and we do not make money storing (now) your property.
Most auction houses demand you clear it out at the end of the day.
We start cases after a couple/few days since we have had too many weird things go on.
    UNLESS you COMMUNICATE…COMMUNICATION is KEY.
WE CANNOT read minds so if you may want to purchase something else, let us know and we will work with you.
SILENCE and NONPAYMENT just isn’t a positive thing.
    ***NOTE:
    If there is a
ruler or a random coin/dollar bill
    in these pictures it is
    for scale
    and
    not part of the package
    .

We can’t take this item back, but if you are not satisfied, please reach out.
    Win/win is winning for life.
    Here is our disclaimer.
    These items are not new.
They are old, probably wrapped in acidic paper along the way, put away with the intention of opening again in a few weeks, which turned into a few months, then a few years, and now more than a few DECADES. We still have a little left from the house here and there that will be mixed in, but these items are listed with intention of NOT putting them back.
Again, not new (unless specifically stated), they may have
residue from use and/or age; they could show wear from age, storage, and use.
These things are priced to SELL so if you have interest, bid.
You may not have an opportunity like this again…remember that THING you wanted way back when?
    Here it is!
Grab it before someone else does!
Live the story, share with your kids – ah hum, your grandkids!
    Or just enjoy
    J
Any estate items are “as is.”
Items are not new (unless stated).
We try our best to toss anything that we would not be interested in if we were collectors, but we can not decipher everyone’s tastes.
PLEASE, if you have questions, ASK prior to bidding.
It is just silly not to.
Questions are free – we will answer nearly anything (and keep our sense of humor).
We are not here to deceive; we are here to make you happy.
We need to eat like everyone else, but we try to be fair and honest and want you to keep returning for fun, unique, and interesting stuff (check out our other listings)
There are going to be antique books, yachting stuff, military – WWII/Korean War, Disney stuff, art, carvings, tools, antique dolls, Lionel stuff, steam engine stuff, even jewelry!
All kinds of “stuff” but this is a big project and sorting is nearly impossible so we will continue to get it on the computer as quickly and as organized as possible.
    Please bear with us.
Combining shipping may definitely work – but please communicate (including YOUR zip code) before paying (and let us know when you are done so we can send you a total); however, some items may cost more if combined because of weight/size/balance/fragility/Flat Rate Box limitations.
    KEEP WATCHING!
    NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING!!!
    Not even through eBay Global
    *We ship fast.
**We do not intentionally try and make money on shipping.
We have lost hundreds using eBay calculator so it is now calculated prior to listing to the closest specifications we can rehearse without literally packing twice.
With antique scale (no, we’re not selling this one), and all the materials we estimate the item(s) are going to need, the law of average we usually get it pretty darn close.
Sometimes it costs more and we do not charge and sometimes it’s less and by the time all the “paperwork” through eBay/PayPal is complete for a “refund”, we somehow pay more fees and still lose money.
Please don’t leave rotten feedback for discrepancies with shipping.
Shipping is not cheap, but neither is time and energy.
We do our best to pack efficiently and you still get your package in one piece, quickly.
***NOTE: DUE TO EXCESSIVE "CUSTOMER BIDDING ERRORS" WE WILL BE NO LONGER CANCELING TRANSACTIONS OR BIDS (YOU JUST HAVE TO CANCEL YOUR OWN BIDDING ERRORS THROUGH EBAY HELP) AND THESE ITEMS WILL GO TO UNPAID ITEM CASES TO STRIKE AGAINST YOUR ACCOUNT. PLEASE BE EXTRA CAREFUL WHEN PLACING YOUR BIDS, BOTH AS WHAT YOU ARE BIDDING ON AND THE AMOUNT YOU ARE BIDDING. NO MORE EXCEPTIONS.*****
