This is an extremely displayable trilobite. It is a killer Zlichovaspis rugosa from the Devonian of Morocco. This amazing specimen was
meticulously
prepared under a microscope in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab here in the USA. This sculpted trilobite is extremely 3-dimensional and wonderfully articulated. The robust bug exhibits very fine detail - the long, wide, sweeping genal spines and tailspine are intact and have been prepared in a free-standing manner. The lenses of the large eyes are present, and the edges of the head, tail, and pleurons have been painstakingly extracted from the surrounding matrix - it looks like it is floating over the rock! The natural, dark color of the trilobite contrasts strikingly with the light brown limestone matrix. And, coolest of all,
the entire piece has been permanently attached to a metal stand for optimal display!
Honestly, I would say this is the most displayable Zlichovaspis we have ever prepared, period.
