Description

An early Gambs’ microscope signed “Maison Boulade J. Gambs 8 place des Jacobins, 8 Lyon”.
Joseph Gambs will take the Boulade business in 1903, so this is a early production when he signed with the former name of his new company.
This is a little unusual simple microscope with two lenses : a low power placed on the upper stand and a high power based on the lower stand.
Furthermore, the double simple microscope has a rotative screw based on Bouquette’s system for focusing. The wheel which is placed just against the maind rod allow a short up and down thanks to a small ring engraved in the wheel.
Everything is mounted on a heavy cast rectangular stand and the microscope preserves its round glass stage, and two additionnal stage with rulers and a larger glass square stage.
Excellent workind condition for this rare botanist’s simple microscope.
