Description
Vintage, hard to find indigo ikat dyed textile by the Baule people of the Ivory Coast and Ghana. 10 soft, tightly handwoven strips sewn together with a great, unusual, graphic, stepped and square pattern, and small areas of colored embroidery rectangles. The Baule are only one of two peoples in West Africa that do ikat dyeing of their weaving thread.
