Vintage Cameo Pin/Pendant, Hand Carved Italian Shell, Gold Plated Setting

Description

A finely hand carved, not molded, shell cameo that can be used as either a pin or a pendant.  It has a gold finish but I did not find any purity marks, so I'm assuming it's gold plated and not gold filled.  There are a couple of areas on the prong where white metal shows through that may be from where it was attached to a card at one time.  Otherwise, it is in very good condition.  The carving and mounting style is typical of the late 1950s through the mid-1960s.
