    Here's a vintage early 1940s hand-carved shell cameo brooch, set in gold-filled metal.  The shell cameo features
    the profile of a beautiful lady who appears to have a sort of "marcelled" or very wavy hairdo with a large petaled flower in back.  (I understand that marcelled hair was very popular in the 1930s - although I believe this cameo was created a little later, probably right before World War II.)  Be sure to view all photos with this listing.
    The shell cameo itself is expertly hand-set into a gold-filled bezel, and the bezel is mounted onto a golden frame with twisted decorative gold metal strands all around.  The brooch measures just over 1

    " across.  Also, it's signed

    The hand-carving on this shell cameo is just beautiful!  It's not unlike the type of carving you would see on many 14kt and 18kt gold brooches or pendants.  Overall condition is
